Find your way back to each other
When the same arguments keep circling, or the silence feels louder than the fights, couples therapy helps you slow down, understand the pattern, and rebuild a bond that feels safe again.

It is not you versus them. It is you both versus the cycle.
Most couples are not fighting about the dishes or the phone. Underneath is a longing to feel important, chosen, and safe. When that longing goes unmet, one partner often pursues and the other withdraws, and the cycle takes on a life of its own.
Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), one of the most researched approaches to couples work, we name that cycle together, slow it down, and help each of you reach for the other in a new way.
- Constant arguing, or avoiding conflict altogether
- Feeling more like roommates than partners
- Rebuilding trust after infidelity or betrayal
- Navigating parenting, blended families, or in-laws
- Intimacy and emotional distance
- Big transitions: a new baby, a move, a loss, an empty nest
- Premarital counseling and strengthening a good relationship
- Deciding whether to stay together
What couples therapy looks like
Understand
We start with a joint session, then often meet with each partner once so I can hear both stories fully.
Soften
We identify your negative cycle and the feelings underneath it, so blame gives way to understanding.
Reconnect
You practice new ways of reaching for each other, repairing after conflict, and building lasting closeness.
"Love is not just a feeling. It is a bond, and bonds can be repaired."
Couples therapy FAQ
How long is a couples session and what does it cost?
Couples sessions are 65 minutes and cost $250. The extra time gives both partners space to be heard. Limited sliding scale spots start at $130.
What if my partner is hesitant to come?
That is very common. A free consultation can help a hesitant partner feel more comfortable. You can also start with individual therapy while you decide.
Do you only work with married couples?
No. I work with married, engaged, and dating couples, as well as couples considering marriage through premarital counseling.
Can couples therapy include our faith?
Yes. Couples who want it can choose Christian counseling, where your shared faith becomes part of how you heal and reconnect.
Will you take sides?
No. My client is the relationship. I will support each of you and stay focused on the pattern that is hurting you both.
Is couples therapy right if there is abuse in the relationship?
If there is physical violence, threats, or fear for your safety, couples therapy is not the right first step. Please reach out privately and I can help you find safer support. In an emergency, call 911.
Can we do couples therapy online?
Yes, as long as both partners are physically located in California during the session.
