Teen Therapy  |  Ages 13 to 17

A safe place for teens to be heard

The teen years are full of pressure: school, friendships, social media, identity, and big feelings that do not always have words. Therapy gives your teen a trusted adult in their corner and gives your family a way to reconnect.

How It Works

Teens lead. Parents stay connected.

Teen sessions are 55 minutes. I start with a parent intake so I understand your concerns and family history. After that, sessions are mostly one-on-one with your teen, with family check-ins as needed.

I use CBT skills, mindfulness, and parts-based work from IFS, adapted to feel natural for teenagers. Many families also benefit from occasional joint sessions to strengthen communication at home.

A note on privacy

Teens open up when they trust that what they share stays private. I keep session details confidential, while letting parents know about general progress. If I am ever worried about your teen's safety, I will involve you. We review these agreements together at the first appointment so everyone knows what to expect.

Questions

Teen therapy FAQ

What ages do you see?

I work with teens ages 13 to 17. Adults 18 and older can begin individual therapy.

What does teen therapy cost?

Teen sessions follow the individual rate of $200 for 55 minutes. Limited sliding scale spots start at $130.

Do parents need to attend?

A parent or guardian joins the first intake. After that, sessions are usually with your teen alone, with family check-ins when helpful.

My teen does not want to go. What now?

That is normal. Many teens come in reluctant. A free consultation lets your teen meet me first, and I work hard to make the first sessions feel low-pressure.

Are teen sessions available online?

Yes, secure telehealth is available for teens physically located in California.
