Life Coaching  |  Virtual Sessions

Clear goals, real steps, steady accountability

Life coaching is a nonclinical, goal-focused service for adults who want structured support to reach something specific: a career shift, healthier routines, clearer boundaries, or a big life transition. Together we name the goal, map the action steps, and keep you moving.

Two Different Services

Therapy or coaching?

Therapy and coaching have different purposes. The right one depends on what you need, not on price or where you live.

T

Therapy

Clinical assessment and treatment for mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship distress. Therapy is available to clients physically located in California at the time of each session, or in another jurisdiction where I am authorized to practice.

C

Coaching

Nonclinical support focused on specific goals, action steps, and accountability. Coaching does not include psychotherapy, diagnosis, or mental health treatment, and it is not a substitute for therapy.

Ask about coaching

How we decide together. During your free consultation, I ask about what you are hoping to change and whether you are experiencing symptoms that call for clinical care. If therapy is the better fit, I will recommend it. If you need therapy and live outside California, I will help you find a licensed therapist in your state.

  • You are working through trauma, grief, or a painful past
  • You are concerned about substance use or eating patterns

How It Works

Simple, flexible, virtual

  • Secure video sessions
  • Individual coaching: $150 per session
  • Couples coaching: $200 per session
  • A written coaching agreement that outlines your goals and the nonclinical scope of our work
  • Clear action steps and accountability between sessions

Coaching is not therapy

Life coaching is educational and goal-focused. It does not include psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment of any mental health condition, and it does not establish a therapist-client relationship. If clinical concerns come up during coaching, we will pause and talk about the right next step, which may include a referral for therapy.

Questions

Life coaching FAQ

Who is life coaching for?

Adults who want structured, goal-focused support and are not seeking treatment for a mental health condition. Coaching is available whether you live in California or somewhere else.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy is clinical care: it assesses and treats mental health concerns and can explore the past in depth. Coaching is nonclinical: it focuses on specific goals, action steps, and accountability for the road ahead.

Is coaching a lower-cost version of therapy?

No. They are different services with different purposes. We choose the one that fits your needs during the free consultation, not based on price or location.

What if I need therapy but live outside California?

I will help you find a licensed therapist in your state so you get the clinical care you need.

Can couples do coaching?

Yes. Couples coaching focuses on shared goals, communication practice, and planning. Couples in significant distress, recovering from infidelity, or facing safety concerns are better served by couples therapy.

Is coaching covered by insurance?

No. Coaching is a private-pay service and is not billed to insurance.

Not sure which fits?

Start with a free consultation and we will figure it out together.
